Who works with R-12 in Denver

Anyone know a shop that could top up my R-12 in Denver?

Yup, go see Star Tech (http://startechmercedes.com/), but I doubt anyone is going to just "top up" your R-12 system without diagnosing and fixing the leak.

Just made an appointment with German Motors in Lakewood to leak test and top up. $225.

That sounds about right. The problem is that the replacement hoses are starting to get expensive when they get leaky.

I just got a quote today to replace the high side line from the dryer to the expansion valve and recharge for $288 which I didn't think was too bad. At least they found the leak and it wasn't the compressor...

It depends on the hose, the last one I had replaced was only about $100; but one of my 240D hoses is over $500 now.

Right.... the expensive hose is the manifold hose assembly costing $600+ for my car. When that one goes out, I roll down the windows.
