new car questions

Hi folks finally took delivery of 1982 240d. It is a Florida car that is now going to live in Vermont[talk about culture shock!]. I was told by the former owner. Don an old friend, that the woman he bought it from had serviced it regularly from new but that he had literally driven it home and parked it and then sold it to me.There are no service records.
Drove it home from Virginia with no problems but being a newby to MB,I need some direction as to what I should be checking and/or changing.
Some facts: 195k miles, Auto trans, Recent oil change.
What is the fuelfilter change interval.
I plan on running biodiesel in various blends depending on temp. I realize that some fuel lines will need upgrading to handle BD which line should be changed and what is a good source for same. And any other BD sensitive
parts ie seals in the IP etc.
What is the recommended AT fluid and diff oil?
I notice a squealy squeak that occurs at low speed and through trans upshifts. The trans seems to shift up and down with no apparent slippage
but it does clunk into gear at the shifts. Is this normal Fluid level is ok.
It does not seem to occur at highway speeds or when the car is at rest either at idle or revved so I am leaning away from belts, pulleys or pumps.
I also own a Jetta TDI and Dodge Cummins diesel so I am somewhat familiar with diesel and just need to get up to speed on the MB.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew

The 240 is a good car, just not a high speed demon.

All fuel lines should be changed regularly anyway, but as you know BioD will eat up the old rubber quickly.

AT, many people use DexronIII. Synthetic would be best. Clunking can be caused by poor vacuum.

Change fuel and air filters now and also do a valve adjustment.

Check for a stuck brake caliper, or worn out center driveshaft support bushing. It's also a good time to check the flex disks and half shaft boots.

I had my daughter drive the car while I walked beside it and listened. It was as noisy in reverse as forward and it seemed to be coming from under the car. I then opened the hood and did the same thing and it sure seems to be coming from the alt belt/pulley area. I gave the belt a push and it feels like more than 1/2" deflection. She had to go, so the belt adjustment will have to wait till tomorrow.
I did have a chance to give the car a more complete lookover and all the lines and hoses look original. So, I want to replace all the rubber fuel lines with BD proof hose; viton or PU. How many feet of which diams are needed the do the job?
I have been reading on the various brake line fixes and so have an idea as
to what is involved there though I have no issues yet.
I need to get the car up and get under it and give it a thorough check.
