W124 - 87 300DT Vacuum hose replacement: What sizes?

Hello,

My apologies if this question has been answered, but I have having a devil of a time hunting down this information.

What I'd like to do is to replace all of my vacuum tubes in the engine bay. I dont think this will cost that much and may be a good maintenance item to complete. I'd like to replace the connectors too, and that would be a lot easier to identify and place an order with Phil.

Re vacuum tube sizes, types, etc., can anyone recall if there is a post that lists out all the sizes, types, etc for a W124 300DT? I vaguely recall a post awhile back (as in years), but i believe it was for earlier W123s. Or maybe it was on Dieselgiant's site.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

The tubing seems to be the same size throughout the engine bay except for the big line to the brake booster and the 'little bit bigger' black line for the cabin vent. I went to a VW dealer and got a couple of meters of plastic tubing for a boost gauge. I wanted retain the color coding but at that time neither VW, BMW nor MB stocked anything other than plain white tubing. VW place was cheapest. FWIW, BMW dealer was cheapest for ovaled exhaust manifold nuts.

I got rubber vacuum tube to size for the junctions.

Hey Six,

Thanks for the reply. You know, I'll just simply pull the hoses and visit my local VW dealership and/or place an order on McMaster's website. By chance, do you know what these lines are made of?

Thanks,
Bob
