1977 OM616 injector question...

Ok after getting these nice Bosio nozzles installed by my local diesel shop I noticed something peculiar and need some knowledge. I would like to know what the numbers stamped on the side of each injector represent. The reason is I've noticed that 2 of my injectors have 151 stamped before the 115 bar stamping and the other 2 have 144 stamped on them. All the other numbers are identical. What does 151 and or 144 represent?

The injector is just a holder, what matters is the nozzle they put inside and the pop pressure its set to.

If you bought the nozzles as a set and they all came in the same container I wouldn't worry about it.

I guess that makes sense. If you go back to my previous thread you can see that one of the injectors has an extra thread. I dunno if that will pose a problem once I try to install it. Have you seen that in your experience?

There are two types of injector assemblies the physical dimensions of some of the parts are different. As long as the parts made for that injector are kept together as an assembly and not mixed with the other type there is no problem and they can be used on the same engine.
The different number with the "bar" after them means that at one time those injector assemblies were used on another type if engine. When you buy rebuilt injectors from Bosch they cover up the stamped marks on the injector with a plastic band and the rebuilt injecter number is on the band. I believe they do that so they can make the injector parts into whatever injector the want to without having the customer question them as to why the marks do not match up.
The injectors on my car were made from VW Rabbit injector assemblies with Monark Spray Nozzles (for Mercedes) and set to 135bar. I do not remember exactly what the stamping on the body was but it was somewhere from 150-155bar.
