2005 CDI FSS Reset - help!
Hello all,
I just performed an oil change on my 2005 E320 CDI and various other things required by the service. However, I have spent the last couple hours reading the owners manual and attempting to reset the FSS service schedule. Apparently I am not capable of figuring this out. Can anyone offer some help? Thanks in advance I have made it to the cancel service menu and tried to cancel 12 and 14 service. However, the system will not permit me to do so. If I schedule an optional service, the system will let me cancel it though. Last edited by dieselbenz100; 06-28-2008 at 04:43 PM. |

JohnHef has described the procedure on the Tech forum a few times.
Make sure you close the drivers door when you do it. It wont "take" on the 99's otherwise and the result may be the same with yours.

resetting maintainence
FYI, I have tried with doors closed, car running, and not, etc. I have a 1998 E300 as well and it only took 5 years to figure our that the doors had to closed. I am sure my problem is something like tha as well.

Why not call a dealership and ask them?

Yes, calling a dealership is my last resort, but I will be there on Monday!

problem solved!
FYI, over on MBWorld. there is a thread with ways to reset the FSS on many cars. The one for the E500 worked for me.
