1995 E300 belt tensioner questions
Greets,
Horrible squeal that developed that I am 99% sure is the belt tensioner. My question is should I replace the pulley only, or also the tensioner arm and shock? Belt is a no-brainer.... |

If the pulley makes noise when you spin it, replace it. If the tensioner arm wobbles about the big bolt into the engine block, replace it. If the tensioner arm clicks are you rotate it around the big bolt, replace it.
There is a big washer between the tensioner arm and the block. Make sure you transfer that washer to the new tensioner arm. Sixto 87 300D |

You'll need a 17mm Hex to remove the pivot pin that attaches the pivot arm to the timing cover.
I'd check the roller pulley out first. Hows the AC running?
