A great set of pix, thanks for posting the link. My wife and I toured the "old" Mercedes museum in 1986. Because of the then-current threat of terrorism, the museum was closed but when I called from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) in Stuttgart and said we were American tourists, they said, "y'all come anyway." So we jumped on the S-bahn and went. Had the museum to ourselves for four hours, a great visit. I was especially impressed with the high speed car that was never operated because of the outbreak of WWII. The skin was made of aluminum (hand beaten). It doesn't show well in photos but up close you can see the workmanship.
