124 power windows dont work!

My passenger side front window is down and it wont go up. I checked all my fuses, cause i had blown one wiring my stereo, but they are all now good. When I push the button, I can hear a light click from under the rear drivers side seat. It seems like it is trying to work, but the thing just isnt moving. ANY thoughts would be grand!

try opening the door and then hitting the switch, if it still doesn't work hold the switch down and wiggle the black rubber loom with the door open. I had broken connections in two of my doors and doing this would make the connection. If this is the problem you just need to run some fresh wire to replace the old stuff

The only thing under the left side of the rear seat that would make a clicking sound is the solenoid for lowering the rear headrests. Clearly, that has nothing to do with the windows. Check to make sure that is really where the clicking sound is coming from. Pull the rear seat if necessary.

It is likely that the window motor is good and the problem is elsewhere, a switch or wire. If you remove the inside panel of the door with the problem, you can disconnect the window motor at the two-pin screw terminals and then connect the motor directly to 12 volts. Connect one wire to +12 and the other to ground. Connected one way, the window goes up; reversing the leads makes the window go down. You can use either the battery in the car or a separate battery, power supply, etc.

Once you have the window up, ignore it like you have been doing the left rear or fix it by checking out the window switches and wiring. For the rear window to work, both the switch in the console and the switch in the door must be good. These switches can be taken apart and cleaned; often it is just dirty or corroded contacts. The console switches are often soiled with spilled drinks.

The wiring that goes through the rubber passage between the A-and B-pillars and the doors often breaks in these W124 cars because Mercedes used too coarse a gauge of stranded wire. The strands were not sufficiently flexible and break after years of being bent back and forth when the doors open and close. You have to remove the cable and replace all the wires.

Ok I need to clear up my original post. Normally, the left rear doesnt work, so that i am not concerned about. Right now, NONE of them work, it just is really a problem on the passenger side because it is stuck open.

I did check and it is making a clicking noise under the seat. There are a buncch of plugs unter there next to the vacuum deal. I have the seat out now. So to sum up, ALL windows dont work, but make the clicking sound (cept rear drivers side). Anyone have any thoughts on this?

First change the fuses even if they look good, they can have a small crack. They are fused diagonally. So the front passenger and the rear driver's side ar on the same fuse.

As suggested above, after you change the fuses, try moving the rubber between the A pillar and the door while you push the button up.

I'm not sure why you are hearing a click under the seat. Did the power seat work before you pulled it?

Power seats work fine. Always have. Rear headrests dont, and havent forever. Nobody around here has the type of fuses I need, so I need to order some.

I should also mention this problem is on the 92 300D just in case anyone was thinking of the 96 I also have listed.

Ok, in conclussion, there was a second blown fuse that had a crack so small it could barely be noticed.

Secondly, the part in the rear I was referring to turns out to be a window Motor relay controller, part # 124 820 32 26.

Thanks for everyones help!
