A/C Condenser line leak (Copper to Aluminum)

Since it's summertime, everyone is posting about their own A/C problems.

Here is mine - my '93 190E/D 2.5 Turbo "Frankenbenz" car is running and driving great. However, there is a leak in the A/C system. This leak is at the junction of a small (maybe 1/4" diameter) tube and the body of the A/C condenser itself. The condenser appears to be aluminum. This short line (the leaking one) is no more than 2-3 inches long, and leads to a brass compression fitting that is about the size of a 3/4" NPT fitting. The issue is that there is a leak at the junction of the aluminum condenser and the apparently copper line that leads to this 3/4" NPT sized fitting.

Can anyone tell me if this joint was soldered from the factory, or if it's some type of swagelock (or equivalent) fitting? The condenser is from the same 1987 190D 2.5T that the engine was plucked from. If it's possible to repair it with solder, I may attempt to do so with the condenser still in the car. If it's a leaking swagelock, I may even try a JB Weld repair (what do I have to lose)?

If anyone has other suggestions, I would love to hear them.

SteveM.

post a pic of this...
there is a resin that factories use for joining aluminum and copper... unlikely solder would work.

Pics.

I'll try to get a pic, but it will be tough without pulling the condenser out of the car. I think I'll end up pulling it out and taking it to a radiator shop for repair (I'm sure that's the wise thing to do). However, I'm always on the lookout for a DIY style repair when it can be done satsifactorily (sp?).

Resin?

John:
What kind of resin do they use? Is it some sort of brazing paste that is subsequently heated, or is it more like an epoxy?
