BatteriesPlus Battery for 1983 300CD-T
Merely FYI:
For many years, I only used M-B batteries in my 1983 300CD-T. Around 2000, I started having what I considered problems w/them: they were typically lasting about two to two and a half years and that was much less than had historically been the case. In 2006, I switched to a battery from BatteriesPlus (I had never dealt w/them before). This was a 850CCA battery. The results were: 1. The first battery failed at about the three week mark in the car and they happily replaced it. 2. At about the 22 month mark, the battery would no longer hold a charge. BatteriesPlus starts pro-rating this battery at 12 mos. They happily offered to pro-rate a new battery but I didn't go for it. Finally (maybe this should have been my first move years ago), I purchased and installed the Interstate battery (MTP-93) specified for this vehicle. The cost differential between the Interstate and BatteriesPlus battery was a negligible (in my thinking) $10 or so. With the Interstate battery, I don't ever recall the car starting so easily and the dashboard signal lamps illuminating so brightly. So, nice enough people with BatteriesPlus (I think they're mostly nationwide) but ultimately as so many others have said here before, Interstate is an excellent choice. |

I just put one in my 83 300D. Battery was $125 + tax, recycling fee. I've used nothing but since the original fail. They usually last about 5 years.

I'm in Phoenix, AZ and paid as follows:
$109.20 - Battery $10.00 - "Hazardous Waste" (I returned several weeks after purchasing to give the shop my old BatteriesPlus battery, figured they could recycle it since they charged me this $10) $8.85 - Tax $128.05 Total |

My DieHard battery has been running strong since 2001 according to the sticker on it. Never failed me once. Of course I got the car in 2004, but considering from 2004 it was the battery since 2001, and still kept running all these years, it's been good so far.
