anybody know why my license plate BRACKETS are getting stolen?
4 of my 9 MB's in the yard have had the rear license plate brackets stolen, screws and all... is there a MBLPB criminal coup going on?

I know, right? I'm thinking WTF???
the hood stars are intact... the cars are un keyed... just a few LP brackets... BRACKETS? WTF WTF WTF??? three of the cars are parts cars, so no big... but, WTF! I went and took one off of one of the cars that still had it on, and hid it in the car... WTF???

I just found the front bracket for Freesil in her trunk, now why was it taken off, I'll have to check that out.

I'd love to see someone try to take mine, the caps over the screws are siliconed in place.

silicone? really? ya think that would slow somebody down? ya got any pics?
keep in mind, these are cars parked in my yard. no license plates on the cars, just the holders.

Rear Brackets? I think on my cars the plate screws directly into the trunk.

I've had a front plate with a Mercedes star stolen, along with the bracket (ripped off the bumper), but why would anyone steal only the bracket? It was scratched up and the car pretty much needs a new bumper anyway, so I didn't care much...

Are you sure they were on the cars before?
Here in Indiana we don't need a front plate so I usually pull the bracket off and put it in the garage. They are pretty flimsey and might also fall off. Tom W

oh yeah, they were definitely there before, the dust lines show it.
I remember pulling the plates off when I picked up the last car, and it's parked right in front of my shop! very very strange...

I remember you mentioning problems w/ neighbors, citations, reports, and having to remove your vehicles.
In some states the law requires cars to have license plates on them at the very least to be parked somewhere (ie.. street) - or at least be moved (legally). I wouldn't be surprised if person(s) did their research before calling in complaints (or vice versa) and removed the plates to see to it you did not find some loophole in avoiding the citation
