Mercedes benz 240d 1979 new owner repar

HI everbody from this forum

I just buy this beauty a Mercedes benz 240D 1979 for $400 it came with 197000 miles the car does not run I just town to my house and I will start working this weeked I have never had any diesel so I'm starting from zero what I just see that I need the vacuum line diagram and is there any good manuals for repair thanks for any help and sorry for my english I just put some pictures if any one can tellme if I need any relay or parts

your first inversment needs to be a can (or case) of engine brite, that bay looks like the exxon valdez ran aground there.

Otherwise, it looks like a great project. You sure cant beat the simplicity of the 240D. . .

Congrats! You will get much enjoyment out of that car. Mine (1980) doesn't have the thing popping up in front of the air cleaner assembly. What is that? Hopefully with some belts and a battery it'll fire right up!

That "thing popping up" is the York AC compressor.

Soooo when you say it doesnt run.. What does it do? Turn over? Are you familiar with the glow plug situation?

Also the FIRST thing you need to do is get the Mercedes Star Emblem replaced LOL! Priorities after all......
