Question R134a compressor for 85 300 cd

I have a 85 300CD which was coverted to R134. I need to replace the the AC compressor (no I do not want to go back to R12,134 works fine after I cleaned an inch and a half of crap out of the evaporator). ********AZ has the OE relpacement listed but for R-12 system will this work with R 134? Other places have rebuilts but don't say if they will work with R134. Can one of you AC guys give me a quick course in compressor technology?. Also, since I have the whole car torn apart, I want to flush the system and lines. What should I use?

I got my brand new AC compressor from Advance AutoParts over the counter, no need to order and wait for it to be shipped, for under $150 + core.... newly manufactured GM R4 compressors are rated for R134a, I believe, since R12 is already rare, but my AC is charged with R12, and it's perfect, nowhere near R134a.

I would also suggest that you flush the line and install a new drier and expansion valve.

Good luck with your project!
