Lightbulb H&R Lowering Springs on '87 SDL

Has anyone tried using the H&R Lowering Springs Manufacturer Part #:29559 on an '87 SDL? The product listing says not for Diesels... Is this due to a heavier engine block? They will fit on the '87 560 according to the TireRack

I keep toying with getting a set but I don't want to make my car ride harder than it already does.

AFAIK they don't make them anymore so call Tirerack and make sure they have a complete set left.

I just got them in the mail yesterday... I also ordered the KYB a-just-a-shocks so I will get these put in at the same time... I looked up the difference between the 300SDL and the 560SEL gross weights... 560SEL 5049 lbs 300SDL 3475 lbs so it shouldn't be a weight issue...

Post pictures. Are you running stock wheels?

I'm worried about the car riding like a 911 with them.

You gotta give up something for looks....

I rode/drove in a 560SEC with Eibach or H/R lowering springs and Bilsteins.... The cars had one of the best rides ever. Not stiff, and not floaty. Just right.

fwiw I have H&R's for a 300E on my 300D. if those KYB's arent stiffer than stock, you're going to be replacing them again real soon.

Is that right? 1574 lbs. seems like a huge spread.

I don't know where you got those numbers but they are off.

The M117 doesn't weight that much more than the 603.

How do you deal with the rear camber when using lowering springs?

Camber kit.

I think it has alot to do with the amenities in the SEL over the SDL.

Power seats in the back, the extra wiring under the hood, etc.

OK, the book says 4100 lbs for the 560SEL and 3850 lbs for the 300SDL.
