1983 Full euro 300d, manul
has 319k kilometers, and four speed manual, very well mainatined, but my thing is its not a turbo, so does manual tranny make up for that performance wise? how are these euro cars?

I'd drive it and see if you like it. It's going to be a bit better than a 240D with a stick, and close to a 300D turbo with an auto.
What are you looking for in a car ... the best fuel economy you can get or the most pickup?

I had one. Loved it. Still wish I had it. To bad the body and interior were shot.

Biggest problem with the w123's. Everything else around them starts going. Mechincally they will last forever many years but the body and interior start falling apart.

No. A turbo with an auto does 0-60 in 15, a non-turbo with a manual around 17. The manual will be quicker off the line and in the city but once that turbo spools up the auto will leave it behind.
