Not much use as a conversion engine without the harness or ECM.

Brings back memories
I remember when living in Milwaukee about 1959 that American Motors ran a large ad on the Automotive pages that they had, (as I recall) some 900 Hudson Hornet 308s with Twin H Power engines for sale. All had the aluminum head. Price was $238.00, you could buy it from your favorite dealer and pick it up at the Clements Ave Parts Plant. Your choice while they lasted was either a flywheel or a torque convertor ring gear. I took the opportunity to renew the engine in my very nice 54 Hornet Hollywood Hardtop Coupe with 3 speed and overdrive. Should have kept that car. First engine swap I ever did. It seemed difficult at the time, mostly because I did not have the tools. As I recall I used a borrowed "come along" to get the engine in and out. Anyway, getting back to these jeep engine. That is a TDI I think. How critical is the computer/electronics on that engine. I just finished replacing my M103 in my W124 with a good one, but a good 4 cylinder TDI is something to consider. Sure would like that mileage. Also, the way I read the bid, they are selling all engines on one bid. Probably will go to a boat builder.

I'm thinking without the ECMs all you'd be able to do is run the starter and spin the engine.....I wonder how much the ECM for it costs....
