Wet driver's side floorboard, I think it is A/C
Just finishing up a 5 day road trip. I've noticed a lot of water soaking into the driver's side floorboard, coming up through the mats and dripping. Very little rain this trip and I've been using the A/C a good bit.
Seems like the culprit is likely A/C condensate? Is it typical for the wetness to appear on the drivers side? I did a search and sounds like the trouble shooting starting point is the passenger side kick panel, so not sure why I'd end up wet on the other side of the vehicle. Thanks for any suggestions! -Chuck

Actually, a leaking a/c drain usually soaks the left rear footwell -- at least it did in my case and others posted here. Behind the a/c unit you will find the remains of a deteriorated hose that once carried condensate from the a/c to a hole in the transmission tunnel. The moisture dribbles down over the transmission and drips from there onto the ground. Replacing this hose is a little tedious because it's hard to reach but you can use almost any kind of hose. This forum has a number of threads where people have posted pictures of this job.

Thanks, Jeremy
Found it here... that pretty much gives the detail you mention. Especially the part where it says, "can lay down a lot of water..." It is pretty soaked! When I pick up the drivers side floor mat it is dripping, saturated.

When we had our problem (during a trip in the Specific Northwest), I removed the left rear seat's footwell carpet and stopped every few hours to swamp it out. I even bought a big sponge at a convenience store. I was just as surprised as you to see how much water we created. Have to remember that if I'm ever in the desert with no water.

It takes a special patience from family members. "Gee Dad... your old car soaking my back pack...."
We made about 85% of our trip on veggie oil, though, so at least the financial saving lead to a higher level of spouse tolerance.
