what happens if gasoline eng oil was used long term
Not a Mercedes but since there are so many dieselheads here I'd ask. I looked at an 01 Dodge Cummins truck w 160k, original owner. I saw a bunch of Castrol 20W50 jugs of oil in his garage and asked how often he changed his oil and what kind. He pointed to the Castrol and said 5 to 7 k since new. I told him that oil is not diesel rated and showed him in his owners manual what type of oil is required for a diesel. So the big question is: What kind of damage was done (if any) using the wrong oil for 160K?
