2009 Presidential Caddy has a diesel powerplant?

The 2001 and 2005 models used by Clinton and Bush have been based on 2000-2005 DeVille and 2006-present DTS exterior styling, but placed on beefed up truck chassis and prob has 4WD. The last two models had gasser engines. The one that Obama or McCain will use (I'm not touching on who I think or who I want to use it) appears to be a mixture of STS and Escalade parts, and according to the leftlanenews.com guys, the exhaust note sounds like it has a diesel powerplant.

BTW- Check out the trailer hitch, is that to haul barrels of WVO to the White House from nearby restaurants?

It will be fine as long as the prez keeps an eye on the air pressure!

The environmentalists would be all over that. Surely its the same beefy 6.2 liter motor that goes in the Escalade.

Now I'm getting a mental image of Al Gore taking a dump on the dash of the Presidential limo. I need to go to sleep.

GM probably used less electricity designing that limo than Al used all of last month at his home.

Interesting. My guess on the powerplant is a Duramax with Allison 1000 transmission. I doubt that either of the components are stock.

A few years ago I had heard what the current Presidential limo weighs. It was much more than you would expect. Unfortunately I can't recall exactly what the number was but I thought that it was pushing 10K. I suppose that the only powerplant that could pick up its skirts and run in that sized vehicle is a modded diesel.
