83 300SD door lock controller

I suspect that some electrical switch controlling the door locks is drawing amperage through fuse 13 and draining my battery The drain started when the doors wouldnt lock. The radio and seat memory are also on this circuit but I think the prime suspect is the door lock system Is there an electric switch controlling the vacuum system ? If so where is it's location?

On that car there is a switch in the drivers door that starts the pump that is next to the spare tire. The pump has a time out circuit in it. This system gets power through the J relay in the fuse box. If you are getting a power drain from this system I would look at the wires where they go from the drivers door to the door frame. These wires brake over time (they are 25 years old and get bent every time you open the door). If one of the wires is shorting out it would drain the battery.

Door key wire a possibility

Sounds possible. I woner what the color code is on that wire to these keys in the door . The trunk one I can probably trace but the bundle through the door is tough as I would have to take off the door panel. I'll try searching woring diagrams .

The wires on mine are blue and yellow and there is a brown ground wire but I am not sure if that goes into the door. I have had to splice in new wire on almost all the wires that go into the drivers door.
