RIP Lilly

Lilly has left us

Lilly was currently in the process of being brought back to her former glory. She had a new engine installed by DieselKraut. She was running beautifully and all that was left that needed to be done was a wheel alignment.

Lilly was up in Sacramento parked in front of DieselKraut's house. On the day I was to pick her up she was hit by another car. The other driver stopped and left their info and we are currently working with their insurance company. I've been told that the rear driver's side wheel was broken off and the axle was bent. Their is also damage on the rear quarter panel. I've been told that the car is totaled.

Lilly only had 170K on her (both the engine we just put in and the body).

RIP Lilly.

Post some pictures of the damage

Insurance companies total cars when they are fixable.

Buy it back and transplant the motor into a dead one with an excellent body.

Turbobenz managed to do this using his wrecked 300d into a very nice SD body that he picket up for $150.00

Does anyone know of an appraiser in the Bay Area / Sacramento? I need to determine a realistic value of the car for insurance purposes.

I will post pictures of the car as soon as I see the damage myself.

better replace the rims with stock ones before the insurance company take the whole car...
while I don't really like the looks of those, they are some (if not THE) lightest rims you can get that fit the w123.
Sorry to hear about your loss...

Oh man, I am sorry. I remember how exciting it was the day you bought it.

You might want to buy back the salvage to get the engine out of it

What a shame you can't get paid back for all that work that went into it, but

At least you and Barbara weren't hurt

Good luck on the next one.

I have to stop by the old place to check for mail and ill take a phone picture.

The guy that hit it seems pretty cool so its all on the insurance companies on how bad it will be.

Also more info for the viewers: When the guy hit the car he said he had looked down for a sec then when he looked up "BAM!" He hit the car hard enough to turn the driver side rear wheel sideways and moved it from the force about two full car lengths. The car if fixed would cost more in repairs even if done by me (work at pick n pull now) to not be cost effective.

Now if a good chuck comes out of this or not either way the engine some how must be saved. I put too much blood sweat and tears into the thing then to just sit back and see it get crushed or someone that knows nothing about it to get it thinking its a new veggie project.

Oh BTW Pat the place where my anthercite grey 84 benz was smashed was HELLA years ago infront of my buddies places where i was staying.......about a 20mins drive from where this car was hit. And i wasnt even at home this time.

No i just lived there for a month or so. Some kid one early morning comes around the corner in the rain too fast and smashes my poor baby in the ass after i had just put euro bumpers and new all black interior in her.
