Unhappy Idle problems 1995 E300 Diesel

I changed my oil and greased the throttle linkage on my
1995 E300D and now my car idles at 1100 RPM and when
it is in gear barely idles and the idle is very ruff. Lots of
smoke! What did I screw up? The car was running great!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hmmm. Retrace your actions when you changed the oil and greased the linkage. Nothing you did should affect the idle. Did you knock a vacuum line off? Reattach the linkage wrongly? Bump a fuel line loose?

Something happened, just gotta find it.

Some sliding linkage is kinked or connected in the wrong place.

Check vacuum lines under your IM too.

Perhaps another 606.910 owner would post a basic photo to help idenitfy the proper order/locations.
