Transmission Modulator Help Needed

Good evening Gentlemen,

On my 1985 300D Turbo, the transmission fluid is being sucked out by the vacuum pump through the transmission modulator vacuum line.....what could be wrong????

1. modulator out of adjustment---- the T knob, too far out or too far in?
2. transmission modulator----NFG?

if the transmission modulator is bad, are there any first aid (band aid) fix....it's a weekend, and there'll be no part available until Monday the earliest.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yes , modulator is BAD

Diaphragm has failed.

No "Non-Auburn University Approved" "ReEngineering" possible.

If the dealer parts isn't open on Saturday,Your only hope is the ReCyclers.

All Disclaimers Apply.
(And, No I don't know what happens if you drive with the Modulator hose
plugged ...probably harsh shifting. I DO KNOW you don't want the ATF
in the lube oil.)

If you can't get parts over the weekend, disconnect the vacuum line from the modulator and plug it with a golf tee (or other such handy device). Your shifts will be harsh (unmodulated) but you will still be able to drive the car until you get the parts.

I think it already did....I just had an oil change 2 days ago, and guess what???? the oil level on the dipstick went up....would you suggest to drain and do another engine oil change?

I already did that, and you're excactly right, man.... it's shifting like a lunatic on both upshift and downshifts, do you think it's going to harm the differential and the CV joints????

I was doing some searching and coudn't find a step by step R & R of the tranny modulator.......could it be done by just lowering the tranny a little bit without pulling the whole tranny off? i tried looking at it, and there's almost no room to work around up there....it looks do-able but it's gonna be a PITA at best..... taking the modulator out wouldn't be much of a problem but putting it back correctly is a whole lotta challenge....Any hints, pointers, suggestions?
