you mean the engine revs up? A slight increase of 100-150 rpm would be normal when relieving the engine of the load of the trans.....but if its more than that you might have a linkage issue that is throttling up the engine.

I think we're gonna need a better explanation of what your car is doing.
When asking for help, a good explanation has a better chance of getting a good answer..... Lots of folks here can help, providing they understand the problem. ![]() {I'm guessing a lot of folks here on the forum "gas by themselves".......} ![]()

ok. let me explain..
at the beginning everything is normal. after a short drive when i take the gear "Park" position, the engine revs up. it doesn't end for minutes. it is not a normal increase. after that i shut off the engine. it gets cold. i take the gear "N" positon and i switch the motor again. and i see that everything is normal. sometimes it doesn't fix after it gets cool. there is no solution except taking down battery terminals. this is an interesting issue. People have no idea about this problem in my country. |

How many rpm does it rev to?

I will take a wild guess that this is a NA without a tach.
Do you have tempomat or cruise control?

I bet your throttle linkage is cruddy and it is sticking. the older models have a linkage that controls a throttle plate, and it rides near the exhaust manifold. odds are very good that a simple spray of penetrating oil like wd-40 will loosen up the linkage. after that, open up each connection and clean them out and put a dab of transmission fluid on each ball. and reassemble do it ONE LINK at a time... you DON"T wanna get the linkage mixed up!

I had summit similar...
The quadrant pivot of the throttle-linkage on the cam-box was tight... Removed it, to find some rust and thick sticky brown crud jamming up the plastic bush, on which the quadrant pivots. Cleaned it all out and a spot of engine-oil, and good as new. ![]()

The original poster of this thread sent me a PM {somewhat less than nice} very upset that I was making fun of his grasp of the language.
I'm certainly sorry for upsetting him and making him feel like he was being made fun of. Just wanted to let him know publicly that I am sorry for any misunderstanding.... Sarcasm can be lost when there is a language difference I guess. Certainly wasn't trying to be rude. ![]()
