Gizmo in front of the battery W124.128
Have in front of the battery a rectangular feature with an el. cable and I would like to know what it is called and what it does. Unfortunately, unable to trace the cable any further. My mechanic is also not familiar with it. Car came up from the States to Canada and, may be, it was required in the States only.

Pressure Sensor for the EDS system
FSM calls it the "Pressure Sensor, EDS"
The Plug on the underside attaches the cable that runs to the EDS (Electronic Diesel System) ,Which is one of the "Black Boxes" behind the plastic panel behind the Battery. There is a Black (With clear stripe) hard plastic line that runs around to the other side of the engine compartment and plumbs into the pressurized intake. It is one of the many parameters the EDS uses in it's quest to deny you Turbo Boost. Yep, pressure sensor. Basically 1/2 of your wastegate.
