intermittent power loss
I'm have an inermittent power loss problem with my 92 300d, be driving along with car running fine an then notice a loss in power, its as though the filters blocked but they are fine. I can pull over, stop and restart the engine and it is good to go again, for maybe a mile or 50, then loss of power again. Anyone seen this before, I'm thinking it electrical but not sure.

Your EDS computer is probably finding something wrong and cutting boost. The same thing happened when I was troubleshooting a bad vacuum transducer. I put the bad one in the EGR circuit and it would drive fine for a mile or two then the computer would figure it out and cut boost. Get or build yourself a code reader/flasher. A little soldering and $20 at Radioshack will get you all the parts you need. Do a search on here, there are a number of posts that include a link to plans, as well as posts that translate the flash codes to something useful.

Thanks for the replies, I connected a boost aguge and it the car fir a spind, normal pressures for a while, then drift off a hill and start up the other side, no power and the boost pressure sets a only a few pounds for bit then drops to 0. I'll build the code reader and give that a go.

well I built the reader flasher and read the following codes 2,3,7,11,14,15 after clearing the codes I drove the car again until the boost droped which was about 2 miles returned an read them again. This short trip set codes 5 and 11. I suppect its time to consider gsxr's actuator, looks easy enough.
