240D Transmission adjustment?
Hey everyone, my 240D's transmission is getting to drive me crazy anymore . Basically, taking off in drive it will wait about 2 seconds before shifting into second, and from there on out (wide open throttle) it shifts way too early into all gears.. so my takeoff is basically the worst you could expect from a 240D. So to deal with all that I do all the work on the gearshift to get it up to speed, starting in L, then to S, then D. Another problem is it never wants to downshift.. I checked the ATF last week and it was too high so I took a quart or so out of it, this did nothing. Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance. Also, I will check what speeds it is shifting when in drive on the way home from school today and let you all know.

My 240d is doing almost the same thing. I'll be interested in the responses you get. Are you in S.W. PA by chance?

if 240d's have a bowden cable or similar linkage, that's it.

I've heard a lot about this bowden cable.. I know im going to look stupid but where is this thing and how should I adjust it? I haven't dug into the mechanics of these transmissions yet, should be fun to learn. Jaschanks, yes I am in SW PA.
