Broken odometer and sunroof..... 300SDL

One of the 300SDL's that my uncle is going to inspect for me today has a broken odometer (imagine that) and a non-working sunroof.

I really do not care about the sunroof, but do the odometer. When these odos stop working on these cars, what is normally the problem and whats the fix?

Thanks.

The broken odometer is usually the mechanical (plastic) gears. Simplistic Fix, HERE is the site that sells gears and insturctions. Cluster removal techniques are on the Resources Tab at top of screen under DIY articles.
The sunroof - that was a PIA, if it breaks again I will just weld it closed and paint it But there is also a DIY as mentioned above.

sunroof -could be the motor, stuck tracks, bad switch, or fuse.

Thanks. It does not matter now. The car was sold out from under me.

Guess sometimes there is an advantage to my philosophy of buy now, worry about what's broken later. That sucks though. There are more around.
