Talking First Long Drive!

Finally!! I was able to take my 240D on a nice long well deserved cruise. My buddy and I decided to head on over to Parker, Arizona because it's right on the boarder with California and only about 2 to 3 hours away. The roads are loooooooong and lonesome with no cars front and back as far as you can see.

The first part of the trip I knew was going to be intresting because there is a very large hill and then a semi big hill. I got the best running start I could at 85mph and took the very large hill head on, ended up chugging to the top at 35mph The second hill wasn't so bad. After that it was smooth sailing. I now know what you all mean when you say these are great traveling cars, they really are! VERY comfortable and very quiet. The mpg was AMAZING! We clocked it at 35mpg. Cost us 41$ to drive over to Arizona and back, I was very proud!

I love these cars, I wouldn't want anything else. Thanks for the past advice from you all, kept it in mind the whole trip! LONG LIVE OLD DIESEL BENZ'S!!!!

It's awful enjoyable getting these cars out on the road, even the 240's. Good to hear your experience! Next time you might have to get further into AZ, or heck, head further east......

I'd like to know how you got 35 mpg! Best I ever did was 28.5 mpg.

We recently drove from Portland Oregon to phoenix, cars are still running great we did the majority of driving at night, the 240 is 1000 miles short of 300k and the sd has mystery miles but is a great car. No a/c... Still haha
But that drive up through to blithe is awesome starting in Indio at 4am... It was an adventure. And both still pull.
