Transmission mount......................I hope
Out of the blue yesterday I noticed a substantial vibration coming from what seems like somewhere right under my arm rest. This vibration occurs right after it goes into 2nd gear and right after it goes into 3rd and only lasts for about a second or 2 then stops and doesn't happen again until I come to a stop/slow to a crawl and then accelerate. There is no vibration when down shifting. The vibration is like somebody is under my car and hitting the floor with a hammer(thump thump thump thump thump). Prior to this event the transmission has been a non issue, fluid is at the correct level and it shifts just fine. Like I said at the begining of this post, this just started without warning. Where do I start?
Thanks in advance!!

I second that, also could be the carrier bearing.
Get under and have a looksee, it most likely will show itself if you start wiggling the driveshaft.

I 2nd carrier bearing
Get under there and look at where the driveshaft goes thru a hole before the rear diff. Grab the driveshaft and yank hard. If there is movement, the carrier brating is toast.
I had this issue when I first purchased my car, every shift the driveshaft whould smack the undercarrige of the car like crazy, esp. downshifting. I'd investigate the flex disk also. I know that there is a transmission mount but I still have yet to find and replace mine.

Dumb question. Is that the same as the differential pinion bearing I saw @ Fastlane?
Thanks

No
(If it's your CSB) This be the culprit:
[Per A.D.] Also when you replace this BEFORE: 1.You tighten the center nut on the Driveshaft. AND 2.You torque the two bolts that secure the center support to the body. ROLL the Chassis "back and forth" 10-20 feet to allow the Driveshaft to "Set" itself.(Else you'll shorten the CS Bearing and Flex Discs use-able lifespan)
