300SD Heater acting up

I have an '83 300SD. When I turn on the ACC and it is set to warm, and the motor is completely warmed up, only lukewarm air blows out. Not hot like it should be. If I turn the temp control to cool for a few minutes, and then back to warm, hot air will then blow out like it should. What is wrong?

I'm not sure if this will help, but when we first got the 81 300D, the heat would be HOT whenever it was on. There was no setting it, it was either all the way up or it was turned off. The AC didn't work real well either. I found a heater control valve at www.***************, (about $35 for the repair kit {i.e., "guts"}). It took about 5 minutes to change the part out, which consisted of removing two easy to reach screws, and the thing has worked great ever since. It was the rubber diaphragm that was separated that caused the problem. A 10 cent piece of a $30 dollar part, but an easy fix and well worth it. I'll try to send you the page, but I'm not real good at that. If nothing else, go to ********az and do a search for your model>AC&Heat>Climate Control>AC & Heater Control Valve. It's the part on the bottom. (If you can find enough to make an order over $50, they'll ship free). It's a great place for OEM parts.

Showme, I don't think your supposed to be posting links to competitors websites.

I believe this is what your talking about. Fastlane has it.
