What parts are needed to rebuild delivery valve seals in IP

I’m in the process of replacing my nozzles and wanted to rebuild the DELIVERY VALVE SEAL’S on the injector pump while in that area.

I’ve done some basic searching and found the delivery valves o-rings and the cooper sealing rings. Where can I find the compression springs with out going to the stealership?

Delivery Valve O-Ring $0.50 $0.44

http://catalog.peachparts.com/RenderScriptTemplate.epc?_cmd=epccat_VehicleAAA&cookieID=2HI19Y2P32HI1BGPFK&yearid=1987%40%401987&makeid=MB%40%40MB%40%40X&modelid=300-SDL-001%40%40300SDL&catid=D%40%40Diesel+Injection&mode=PA&subcatid=D2018@@Delivery+Valve+O-Ring

Pressure Valve Seal $0.90 $0.65 might be Cooper Sealing ring

http://catalog.peachparts.com/RenderScriptTemplate.epc?_cmd=epccat_VehicleAAA&cookieID=2HI19Y2P32HI1BGPFK&yearid=1987%40%401987&makeid=MB%40%40MB%40%40X&modelid=300-SDL-001%40%40300SDL&catid=D%40%40Diesel+Injection&mode=PA&subcatid=D2015@@Pressure+Valve+Seal

What parts should I be replacing while the injector lines are off?

Thanks for the help,

Dealer for the springs.

Most don't repalce them.

You'll need the splined socket.

While you are at the dealership, pick-up the rubber shims and the plastic clips for all the hard fuel lines, and a meter of the proper cloth-covered fuel return line. Also get the gasket for the cross-over pipe and the gasket for the intake manifold (if you plan to remove those).

While you are there, you might as well replace all the glow plug, and then you probably won't have to touch any thing under the manifold for another 100k miles or so...

My '93 2.5 TD developed leaks around the delivery valves recently, and I ordered "O" rings, not realizing that this project is more complicated that simply replacing them.

I searched this forum prior to tackling the replacement, and I'm sure glad I did (I have a set of factory service CD's, but the IP is not covered). Where can I obtain the splined socket and what can I expect to pay for it? What are the torque values for the delivery valves?

Thank you, Diesel911, for the detailed picture.

DV seals,o-rings,springs

DO NOT BE IN A RUSH TO COMPLETE THIS TASK!!! Take Breaks.
I would suggest doing one DV location at a time.
(YOU DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE YOURSELF OPEN TO "MIXING UP' COMPONENTS)

The copper washers[7f] and the springs[7i] are available from your BOSCH diesel service station.
http://www.boschservice.com/ServiceLocations/DieselServiceCenter/

AND might I suggest you obtain Viton o-rings for your IP from forum member at:
http://www.fryerpower.com/store/page14.html

Baum Tools,Hazet Tools and the Dealer have the splined socket for the DVs.
(There may be one in the forum's "Tool Rental" section)

DV O-rings and seal:

7K and 7g MUST maintain their respective relationships to each other
(I.E. No Rotation in either direction)

AND 7g MUST maintain it's original relationship with the Delivery Valve Holder
Receptacle in the Injection pump in which it sits.

These parts have established a "Lapped" relationship to each other, and in the
case of 7g ALSO with the underlying Delivery Valve Holder Receptacle.

Fanatically Scrupulous Cleanliness is a must and will be rewarded !

(I.E. Before you tear into this task, the outside of your IP should be fit for
Operating Room/Surgical use.)

(Instructions on the pictogram are for 602.XXX engine, yours may differ)

The DIY is on our forum too. http://www.peachparts.com/Wikka/OM606DeliveryValveSeals

I'd suggest starting out cleaner than shown, and not playing with the pieces and parts so much personally. They don't always go back together so graciously for some.
