Anyone know what, how, etc to do with my transmission? This morning on way to office, I pulled into parking space to parallel park and when I went to shift from drive to reverse, I could not push shifter into reverse, I managed to get car into space without reverse, but couldn't push shifter into reverse or park.

After meeting, I pulled car up onto curb in order to fit under (had no jack) and climbed under car to see if maybe an obstruction, twig, something was in the way...but nothing was there, I wiggled and shifted back and forth by hand and still couldn't get it to go to reverse or park...wiggled some more and was ready to just give up.

Got back up reached in to see where I left the gear on shifter...and now it goes right into park and reverse no problem. I drove the car around, still works fine...my fear is that this could come back to me later since I'm not sure I really fixed anything. Any cheap suggestions? If no cheap, then whats next move?

Do a search for shifter bushings, that sounds like your problem.
A very cheap fix.
