Question Is there a source for patch panels, W123 Jack Points??

I would hope to find some "weld in patch panels for W123 jack points"

I discussed this with Phil awhile back.....he has no source.....I have looked elsewhere...no luck so far.....

It seems like every 3rd W123 that I see had a bad Jack Point.....so it would seem likely that someone makes them.....

last I checked you'd have to get new rocker panels and weld them in.

I think the rockers are 10 gauge or about 1/8 inch. You could get a couple of pieces of metal rolled to the profile and weld them im properly. Or cut unrusted sectioms off a junk car and weld them in. The car is not actually lifted by the rocker panels, There is an inside structure to check before welding the patch panels in.

Look it up on the EPC, you can pretty much order every sheet metal part on your car from MB.

assuming you can weld and have a welder, just do what i did: go to the junkyard and have them cut the entire rocker panel area off or better yet, 1/2 of the driver's side of the car

I have, what appear to be good ones on my "Parts Car" was considering using "zizz wheel" to cut them out.....but would prefer to use new steel....

I have Oxy/Acetelyne, and a welder.....and a buddy who is a fantastic welder, very talented......I was a certified welder some 30 years ago, but I do my best to farm out welding these days.....my old eyes don't work so well these days.....partially because of the lineless bi-focals that I wear.....
