Talking I caught the 1 MB isn't enough bug

Just picked up a 85 300TD Euro. Any way you Cheap Wagon Club guys can fit me in. I know it says $1000 and under but I paid $1100 for this one. The water pump was leaking like a sive so it had to be hauled to my house on a wrecker. It needs quite a bit of work: Rust repair(mainly door bottoms) Air cleaner bracket and mounts, water pump, down pipe, oil cooler hoses, window handles, rear hatch wont open, clunks when shifting into reverse, as well as oil, fuel and air filter changes. I do have one roof rack bar that I may consider getting rid of to help fund these projects.

You are soooo close.... Good buy anyway.

Sell $101.00 worth of stuff off the car, then we'll talk. (just kidding)

its really hard to hate people you've never met.. but after you've paid as much as i have seeing your wagon makes it very easy.

Air cleaner bracket and mounts mentioned in his post.

Look, we like the fact that you have multiple MB's now, and have a very desirable Euro model now too. But the exclusivity of "The Club" cannot be usurped by merely being close.
Upon further review, the ruling on the field stands!!

Take solace in the fact that while your buying price was just a bit out of range, your value places you in very good company!!
Man, a roof cross bar and manual AC controls....... = priceless.
Nice job!

So, how much rust are we talking about here?? Engine bay has that "I live in the great white north" look to it.

Just not "quite" cheap enough....

I can see people using "the club" as a bargaining tactic.

"Well, I would really like to pay you $1,100, but there's this club on an online forum I desperately want to join. Would you take $999.00?"

What's with the spill on the garage floor? Oh wait now I see it - water pump? Nice find!

Why are the front seats from a '79 and older model if I may ask?

Theres probably not a wide selection at the PNP of Euro cloth seats on this side of the pond.

How do you operate the window in the left rear door? No crank, no switch.

I'd have paid that price again for matching velour front seats.

Thanks for the comments guys. Both rear window cranks are missing and the garage floor being wet is from me attempting to degrease the engine bay and the water pump leaking. I already started some disassembly hence the air cleaner, fan, etc. being removed. The door bottoms are rusted through on a couple of the doors where the weatherstrip runs. I also noticed water running through the inner fender when I was spraying around the battery(perhaps Jimmy could chime in on this) I'll put up some new pics later once it brightens up here.

Cripes, I don't even know how many MBs I've owned over the past few years. I do know, however, that I have two and a half really, really good ones left in my possession.

You degreased your engine in the garage????!!!! Well, we can certainly rule out OCD for you.

Tell me about it.........
Based on my sampling of 7 W123's, everybody should remove their battery and tray and check out/address that situation. It is almost a given....

MBTex front seats and cloth in the rear? That seems like a strange combo. You would think the MBTex would be better in the back for the kiddies spilling things.
