CD Manuals

Anyone know anything about the CD manuals from mercedesmanuals.com?
I am looking at a set for my 1984 300SD but at $54 they are steep unless they are good ones.
Any info will be appreciated.
Darrell

I agree with FI, the others are usually pirated copies for more money. Go figure.

Mercedes does not list a CD-ROM shop manual for the 300SD but the 300D version will at least have the same engine (617.952 in the 300D, 617.951 in the 300SD). The 300D manual is QL-6516-5610-02 for $19.99.

I had already checked the Mercedes site and you are right, no 1984 300SD. I really need a manual that covers everything.
Most everything is working okay now but I know it is just a matter of time.
The mercedesmanual.com CD looks good but I am hpoing someone on here will know if it really is.

When I looked at the site, all that showed was the paper manuals for $54. Which, from what I've read is a pretty good price.

From what I've found, even MBUSA Techlit doesn't sell the CD for the W126 series outright and if I understand it correctly, you are paying for a downloaded version. With such a large file, you will need a fast internet connection and computer capabilities to store the information, such as burning a CD.

You just need the W126 CD-ROM. Try your local dealer, if it's not showing online. The 126 CD includes all models & years of the 126. The only other option is to obtain the full set of 4 or 5 printed manuals (chassis, engine, electrical, and climate control) since the WIS doesn't include any info on the older 126 with OM617 engines. Unfortunately, the print manuals are nearly worth their weight in gold. Could cost you a couple hundred bucks for a full set.

If you still have no luck finding what you need, drop me a line, I may be able to help out...

I didn't find one either. There is some good info for the 124 but I am looking for more on the 126.
I guess if no one has any other recommendations I will try the
$54 cd's and see what happens.
Note here to MBUSA: Where are the 126 manuals? A lot of us still need them!!!

Did you read my post? Call your dealer. If you don't have one nearby, call Rusty @ 800-741-5252, or try Caliber Motors. The MBUSA website sucks.

bump

I just called MB Customer Care and was told that the CD-ROM manuals for all chassis prior to the W202 and W140 are NLA. Is this true or did I just have a clueless rep? Seems like they were just a year ago making a big deal out of having dropped the price to under $30 in the interest of goodwill towards owners of the older cars. Next, to call the MB Classic Center...

Still doesn't make sense that MBNA would no longer sell the CD's. Please let us know what the Classic center says...
