Transmission Mount
Where is the Transmission mount in an '83 300SD?
How easy is it to replace? I looked for a DIY, is there one for this job?

Look underneath the car at the rear of the transmission. There is a cross member bolted to the frame in this location. Remove the four 15 or 17 mm hex head fasteners that hold the crossmemeber to the frame and the two 13 mm fasteners. As you drop the crossmember down you will see a wire that should be attached to it with tie wrap. Be careful of this wire. It is the power to the kickdown solenoid. Anyway, you can then see the mount. Look closely at the piece that the 13 mm fasteners unscrewed out of. That is the rear transmission mount. Using a 17mm box end unscrew the nut located on the opposite end of the mount from where you removed the 13mm fasteners. Reverse the procedure to install the new one. I don't have the torque values handy.
