300 wagon manual? Is this for real?

Saw this today...think the dude is bonkers with his price, but I guess if he can get it, good for him.

I've never seen or heard of a manual wagon - he says it's a Euro, so maybe that's why I've never seen them around. The thing looks like it's in pretty good shape.

The first Mercedes ever looked at was a Euro 300TD with a 4 speed manual. It was green too. I really should have got that one...

Cute car , but not really that rare , my friend has 2 that are both manuals.

This car looks like it has had a hard life , lots of wear showing , much toooo expensive I think.

I've seen MINT wagons going for $12k - $15k. That might be a manual Euro, but the interior is beat. It should be selling for around $5 IMO.

Description says "Transmission 4 Speed Automatic" then it says "True Euro 4 speed STICK" Anyone else confused?

35mpg is not realistic and $15k is about $10,000 more than I'd pay for it.

Preach it. Dude is off his rocker. I realized that I've seen this guy with a few other MBs in this area - his cars always seem shady, and I've read some not-so-friendly reviews of the reliability of the ads/cars.

Yeah, I thought I noticed something fishy about the front turn signals --- how can they be yellow if the clear corner lens are in place? Yellow bulbs?

Also, what's with the grille badge in one pic, but not in another one. I couldn't see what the grille badge was......surely not a high mileage award, right???

I agree that the front end shot with the lights on is a different car. Those are federal lights, and the other shots show rounds euros (which he does mention). Different bumper too. The seller needs to pay closer attention to say the least

The disappearing/reappearing badge is an older one for the Euro delivery program.

That much for a non-turbo is crazy; the manual tranny would be nice, but not that nice. He'll never get asking price.

Not with the economy the way it is right now. I agree 6k tops and even then its a pretty penny.

It is going to be faster than you think. Lighter chassis, lighter trans, probably more appropriate gearing. Low miles.

Then again it sounds like he might have already run it on wvo.

This thing is a hodgepodge of two different cars- check out the side plugs where the American bumpers used to go.
The Euro non-turbo engine didn't have that same breather tube to air cleaner- it was like the 240D with no cyclone separator in the air filter mount.

Ah, found out why:
Ebay item 260299133670

Notice from the ebay listing-
-incorrect speedo for the euro car, incorrect tach/clock for the American car (impossible to tell how many miles on the car OR drivetrain)

I'd rather buy a good condition American Turbo and throw a 4-speed in there (and have at least 5k to spare...)

In Europe, most every MB that you look inside of has a two legged transmission. I drooled all over every one of them.
