Sluggish Acceleration

My 92 300D runs very smoothly, idles fine, gets great mileage, but lately acceleration is noticeably (to me) sluggish. It's been 27,000 miles since fuel filters have been changed. Is that the likely culprit? I guess the simplest thing is to just change them. What else could cause the problem?

Thanks.

Yes. They should be changed every time the oil is changed.

Are you getting full boost? Mine was VERY sluggish when the vacuum-actuated wastegate actuator system gave up the ghost! Like Forced said, though, check that fuel filter.

The prefilter should. The main filter is 11 or 12k iirc.

I changed the filters, now it runs great again. The culprit was the main filter. The inline filter, though very dirty looking, wasn't casusing the problem. I changed it first, but the problem persisted.
