Vacuum control lines

I got to help diagnose my "car wont shut off problem", I bypassed the splitter under the hood, the one that has the brown shutoff and the other two with check valves, so that there's just a single line connecting the shutoff only, and guess what? it shuts off without any hesitation. This lead me to believe that one of the two other lines with the check valves leaks, making the system leak. Any harm in leaving this bypassed since it was leaking anyway? It's so nice having it shut off when I turn the key.

By the way, the transmission kickdown still works when depressed and it drives like normal.

Do you have door locks? I did that with one of mine, no other problems.

The lines off the yellow check valve are for the door, trunk, fuel door and
the vacuum tank above the fuel tank.

The green vac line is for the climate control.

Time to get out the Mighty vac and do some snooping around.

What year and model car? The EGR and 3-2 valves are also a known leak source on the om617.95x

Sorry, should have specified that. '78 300D

I played around with the mityvac and this is how i found that the lines going to the shutoff checked out, after replacing the soft line connecting it. The other stuff I've managed to live without for the past year or so of driving it, so it can stay that way.
