As I go down the list of things needed to be done I change the trans fluid and filter. The pan had a few chunks of brass looking metal but my neighbor (professional mechanic) said not to worry if it was still shifting. He did however say "Holy S%%T that fluid is bad!". It had the look of coffee in a glass jar. So take it out and the first thing that is gone is all flaring in the shifts, shutter gone, and it keeps getting smoother every day. Now I can floor it without fear of the major flare that would scare me to death on my sleepy drive home from work. I just hope the trans doesn't come apart from the clean fluid as I've heard this can happen.
The only negative is it seems slower. The turbo does not come up as fast. I will re-adjust the cable to see if that helps it kick down sooner. Other than that what A great trans fix for very little effort. I hope it lasts.
I'm actually starting to warm up to this car.
