Re-mounting license plate + lights on w123 euro
I have a w123 euro with the rear license plate mounted on an AMG bumper. I've been pulled over twice for not having license plate lights. Since I don't like the bumper very much, I'd like to see about replacing the bumper and mounting the license plate where it's supposed to be. I inspected my trunk and found two slots where the lights mount, but since they're spaced kinda far apart, I'm not even sure if it will be possible to mount a US license plate without mutilating my car a bit. I may sell this car in the near future, so I don't want it to be too wonky.

The liicence plate lights are 11 1/2" apart, center to center.
On the U.S. spect cars, there are 4 grommet like things the screws fit into that are mounted in the sheet metal. not sure how they are mounted to the car. check your local PNP and grap a couple lights and maybe the grommets will remove easy, not sure. haven`t seen what a AMG bumper looks like, maybe some one here on the forum might want it. charlie
