Shaky Flea-bay deal

Has anyone had a problem buying from an outfit called German Imports (aka fivestar007)? I tried to purchase an A/C expansion valve from them, sent a postal money order to pay for it. Even though I sent it to the address provided by them, they claim they never got it. I sent them a copy of the receipt, but they still filed an item not paid dispute. Even if they did not get it, they still have the valve and are only out the listing fee, but I am out $25.00 and now have a strike on E-Bay. So be careful dealing with these people.

Since you paid with a postal money order (wise move on your part!) you may have recourse through the Postal Service. The seller may feel that it's safe to ignore you whereas nobody wants to have the feds come after them. Take your receipt and go visit the post office where you purchased the money order.

Anytime I send something like a money order, I send it registered mail, which requires a signature to complete delivery--if the guy signs and never does his end of the deal, I have a signature and the money order info to go after him

you'll need to go thru usps with the receipt, and it will take a long time and a lot of your time. but it may be worth it.

Thanks for sharing, at the least it will help keep them from scamming anyone else here.

That is the best advice.

I am on the other side of the coin. I am a seller and just sold an expensive piece of jewelry on ebay and the buyer wanted to pay by money order. I said fine. It has been 2 and 1/2 weeks and I still have not received the money order even though they claim to have sent it a week and a half ago. I filed a claim last Friday hoping to get them to pay. That is when they made the claim about sending the money order the week earlier. I have trouble believing they sent it. If I sent that much money through a money order and it hadn't gotten there in a week and a half I'd be going balistic! They non-shalantly say it was sent a week and a half ago and say "Sorry for the inconvienience." I'm hoping they sent it that day (should get here today then) trying to pass it off as the post office's fault.

If you have a receipt, tell ebay that and send them a copy of it. Then go to the post office.

At least I'm not out anything (assuming ebay gives me my listing fee back). I will just relist it and sell it again. You are out $25.
The worst part is they don't communicate with me. Hard to know what is going on when they only have sent two-one sentance long messages since the auction ended.

That's the only way I still have my 100% feedback over 100+ transactions in eBay. One time I almost had to get my lawyer involved over this engine I bought -- i wasnt goign to give him my money order unless I got an address of where it was, and he didnt want to give out the address till I paid. So I used paypal ($2,000 dollar money-back guarantee on eBay items) and he finally gave me his address.

Gotta have a paper trail tho--the more paper you have, the better -- signatures are good too

I had trouble with a seller from Georga, "AUCTIONFRONTIER".

bid on and won a brake caliper for my datsun PU. sent a U.S. Postal Money Order. I usually tell the seller when I sent payment and they should have it in a few days.

about a week later I get a blast from them for non payment. I reply I sent payment Via U.S. Post office.
they are going to give me a strike with e-bay. communicating with them is like talking to a fence post.

so I send a second payment to cover my self, and then they finally get the first one. took about a month.
so I asked them to send two calipers since they now will have two Money orders from me.

then they want me to pay for the one I ordered, and hounded me for a while.
but I got the one I bid on, but that was all.

going to the post office and filing a claim will take about 6 months.

the only way to do it is have them sign for it when they recieve payment.

of all the e=bay stuff I have purchased, I have never had a problem until this idiot.

some how I have managed to keep a 100% feed back through the years

The message to Buyers and Sellers is that USPS is not a reliable as it used to be.
The shipping companies including USPS want us to pay extra for tracking numbers or special handling, and insurance to cover their unreliability for them.
If you add up all the extras your purchase is no longer a bargin.

I think there is something about georga, and the mail service.

About 4 yrs ago, I sent a M.O. to BuyMBParts. took one day less that one month for them to get it. The horse must have died on the way .

Wow, that is odd. The person that sent me the money order lives in Atlanta. Perhaps they really did send it. They claim to have sent it on Oct 10. 12 days later and I still have not seen it.

Again though, if it were me that sent the money order for that much I would be all over the PO. I honestly have only received 2 messages in 3 weeks from the buyer. Each was only a sentance long so I am kind of skeptical because of this along with the fact that they are a new ebayer.

Shaky flea bay deal

Go down to the P.O. with your portion of the money order. They will do a search to see if the M.O. has been cashed. If it hasn't, then you fill out a form to get your cash back. I know it sounds like a hassle but some moron down in GA tried to stiff me out of 600 bones last year and I was able to get my ca$h back.

Phil is in CA. The parts come from many different warehouses.........depending on your location. You can bet that yours came from CA.
