Free disc pads - W126
I while back I posted asking about the best pads for my '86 300SDL. I needed to replace a caliper anyway so I decided to try and get rid of the dust. I now have changed the disks and the pads. The Mercedes pads in the front were not there that long and have about 7/16th of an inch of pad left. Anyone who can use them can have them. I also have two front disks that I believe had sufficient meat left to turn and use again. You are welcome to these as well.
The new disks are the ATE premium disks with the gas venting ridges. The pads are Akebono Euro ceramics. I have put about 4oo miles on the car and the stopping power is great but more importantly not a sign of dust on the wheels. I received a lot of positive reviews of the Akebono pads and then someone suggested the new ATEs were a good compliment. So far I have to agree.
