hood pad issue resolved...
Below is the response from the Ebayer that sent me the crappy quality hood pad and my reply. I originally ordered the basic pad because of the color. When I got the pad the quality was terrible and it seemed no better than carpet padding. I sent it back and asked for the diesel hood pad. All is well and I left good feedback.
Q: I hope you are aware that we sent the more expensive SD diesel hood pad for no extra charge. You did get the gas hood pad that you ordered wrong. It was a gas hood pad even though you did not like its materiel and make up. At times we sell Mercedes parts that we ourself think is not worth the money but we do not tell Mercedes what to put in their cars, we just sell thier parts. We happen to think their diesel hood pad is a good quality and nice. Hope you agree Thanks Robin Robin, I greatly appreciate you sending the diesel hood pad at no extra charge. I was aware that I was ordering the less expensive pad. It stated in your Ebay ad that it would fit all 126 chassis cars. I liked the color of the less expensive pad because I thought it would hide the dirt and grime that diesels are famous for. I find it disappointing that you sell goods on Ebay that you find personally not worth the money. Business is business and everyone needs to make a living. Again, I appreciate you sending the better quality pad. Thanks, Paul

Curious, did it make your car quieter? I just glued a new pad up tonight and the car seems to be slightly quieter, but barely noticeable. Does the diesel hood pad have a turbo shield? Mine does not.
