I wonder if it just increases the humidity level/density of the air, or is the turbo in jeopardy from the water vapor being introduced pre-turbo...

I've no doubt there's a real change he's getting, but its likely the 205/70 tires more than anything else he's done. And plumbing a water bubbler jar inline with the blowby gasses (oil suitable filtered out) just isn't like to do much of anything. Wasn't it Forced that played around with methanol & water injection, and tested his car on a dynometer (? sp?) and found water gave only a small marginal power increase? And that was a lot more water than a simple bubbler jar can do.

Interesting. The oil separator is $150 plus $42 for the filter. I wonder how much better it is over the one in the 617 air filter housing.
The bubbler jar is no more than a jar, a couple hose fittings and a piece of sponge.Should be real easy to make. I think I am going to put on on the Suburban and on the BMW to see how it works with the gassers.

As I posted in another thread, to quote a fleet manager when comparing drivers' mileage claims to actual records: "People lie a lot."

My 205/70/R15 tires bumped my mileage up 2-3

haha, that guy is funny.. you NEVER make MPG figures by 4 gallons of fuel... shoot I can get 40mpg in my wagon driving on some highways cause it's more downhill then uphill but going the other way I may only get 15mpg cause of being in boost... silly kids
I will go and drive to the top of a mountain, top off the fuel tank and then "test" my mpg for the trip home...

the bubblier jar is used to trap the oil vapor from going in the intake, in other words its a oil catch can.

Why do you need a sponge for the bubbler jar????

The bubble jar comes after the oil separator so it is not a catch can for oil fumes. I think the sponge is to allow the water to evaporate easier. You put the sponge in lengthwise with it about 3/4 submerged according to a site I found that describes the jar. You put a hole in the lid and fit a hose barb onto the hole. You then tee this into the vacuum line on a gasser or the CCV line in a diesel.
Here is the site I found: http://web.hometel.com/~tron/1983_dodge_rampage.htm I really want to see how this works on the big 'burban. I have been driving carefully and have gotten consistent 16.5mpg. I want to see if this will get me to 18 or 20. On my SDL I have been averaging over 27mpg with three shots at 30mpg. I would like to get consistent 30mpg on that car. On all cars, I take the entire tank not 4 gallons to do my measurements I then put the info in a spreadsheet so I can keep track of average mpg, amount of fuel used, cost of running the vehicle (The 'burban was actually cheaper to run than the SDL for a while!) , mileage between oil changes, & etc.

If this worked then driving in humid air or in the rain would increase you fuel economy. I think not.
The thing to remember is that all of these things, if they worked, would have already been implemented by every car manufacturer out there.

Try to imagine the intellectual level of a person who would measure fuel mileage from full tank to 3/4 full tank.
