Fuel Line LEAKING OVER INJECTOR

HI MI 1987 300 SDL Suddenly start to leak on the Union of the Line over the Injector. I am Running on WVO & Diesel. My question IS could be a clog Injector or may be need new washers on the Lines? Also is a little rough idle and when I touch the LIne it gets better & worst. I was thinking that could be a Clog Injector & this is why is leaking Fuel. The Other are Pretty OK. Thanks

Sounds like a loose injector line nut. Have you tried tightening it with a 17mm wrench?

The injector line fittings at the IP and injectors take a 14mm wrench.

I'd guess the lines are not properly clamped and the vibrations took their toll or the fitting was overtightened at some point.

A clogged injector is more likely to damage the delivery valve in the IP than the injector line. The ruel return system should keep the system safe until you sort out the injector. I doubt that's your problem.

OOPS! My bad - I missed the point that it is an 87 SDL - that would be an OM603, right?

I was thinking of the OM617 - they have the 17mm injector nuts.

If it suddenly started leaking, wouldn't it be more likely that it is due to having loosened up - or cracked - due to vibration (as you suggested) rather than due to having been over tightened?

Thanks for the Response. I Tightened the Line Qith a 14mm and Get Better but Still leaking Fuel. What About if I clean the Base of the LIne? OR something Else/? If is Cracked? What I should Do where to find the PArt?

Thanks

Update It is A Crack Line!!! where I can Find a Replacement or I have to start looking on Junkers? What About a Line from another Mercedes, what About from a 1985 One?? Let me know Thanks

A junkyard would be the best bet, unless you can find someone parting out a car. Maybe E-bay?

When you get replacement lines make sure they have the clamps that go between the individual lines.

New lines are available

You can order a replacement line from this site or from your local Mercedes dealer. You didn't say which injector it was so here are the part numbers for each cylinder. Just select 'Fastlane' from the 'Buy Part's link at the top of this page and search for the part number you need in the 'Parts we stock' box on the left of the page.

6010702333 Cylinder1
6010702433 Cylinder2
6010703633 Cylinder3

Are you sure #5 and #6 use the same part number? It would take a heck of a lot of bending to make one fit in place of the other.

1 through 4 are shared with the OM601 (190D 2.2), 1 through 5 are shared with the OM602 (190D 2.5, 300D 2.5), all are shared with any OM603 (87 300D/TD, 350SD/SDL, 92-93 300SD, 94-95 S350). That should open up the used parts field for you. No easy swaps with earlier engines.

edit - oops, the lines from 1990 onward are usedwith inclined injectors so there's a bit of tweaking to get the lines on the injectors. I'd chance it with used lines.

If you look at the two part numbers the line for number 5 starts with 602 and the line for number 6 starts with 603. I thought they were the same number at first also. These part numbers came from the on line EPC for a 126.125 300SDL.
