I believe 15 is more accurate for 617. 2.5 turbo is 13.

Low end torque is back! Here's what I've done in the last couple of weeks-
1) Opened up the ALDA. Was a little reluctant to do that but it's easy and the results were significant. 0-20 times came down to a little over 4 seconds and 0-40 to about 12. I'm not seeing any black smoke. 2) Set the IP timing. 0-20 came down to a little under 4 seconds and 0-40 about 11. 3) Tweaked the linkage a little. Had a patient helper and and was able to set it a little more accurately. 0-20 is now at 3 seconds and 0-40 comes around in 10. I have no doubt that more torque can be gained but my original complaint about lack of low end power has been addressed. The car pulls strongly from idle and is a pleasure to drive. When I have time again I want to recheck my valve clearances. Thanks to all who offered helpful advice! That's what makes this forum so valuable! r

Does the linkage hit the stop?

Yeah, it does now. I had set it before so that it hit the stop but not having an extra set of hands (or feet) I was pushing down the pedal with a board. I checked it later with somebody pushing the pedal and it seemed to be good but I didn't have much time with my helper. There are a number of variables and setting it by the book didn't get the whole range of motion. Some of the linkage came with the engine and some was from the car. I finally got that time and was able to really check out the whole linkage as I watched it move.
That one bolt on the IP was a bear thanks to the rack sensor but I was able to access it with a wobble extension, a universal, a 2nd extension and a magnetic pick up tool to guide it into place. Interestingly that bolt was loose suggesting that somebody had previously adjusted the IP and not bothered to tighten that last bolt! Thanks for the help on both those items! rr
