126 Diesel Hood needs adjustment

My husband & I just replaced the drivers side hood hinge on my '84 300SD and now it needs to be aligned so that the space between the hood and the fenders are even on both the drivers side and the passengers side.

How do you adjust the hood?

Thanks!

Loosen the two bolts on the side and slide it to where it needs to be. Its a trial and error process.

Latch adjustment

I just replaced the hood on my neighbors W126 300SD. Had the same problem with getting the hood to shut properly.

There are two latches(left and right) on the SD. Two bolts secure each latch. Loosen both bolts keeping the bottom bolt tighter than the upper.
There is some play in the upper bolt hole to angle the latch inward or outward. I got on my knees and lowered the hood down until the latch touched the receiver hole.
I used line of sight to angle the latch tapping on the loose end of the latch to line it up with the receiver hole. Once I felt comfortable with the alignment, I tightened the latch bolts. I repeated these steps with the other latch.
Took some time but for me it worked. No more slamming the hood.
