1981 300d Idle Cable Knob

The main part of my idle cable knob recently snapped off. The base of the part is still there, but the actual, sqaure-shaped plastic part that you physically grab snapped off. I bought the replacement knob online, but have no idea how to replace it. Just wondering if anyone had any advice or even knew how to do this. Thanks all!

The knob actually just snaps into place. Just take a pick, knife, or small screwdiver and dig the black plastic base of the knob out. Then just push the new knob on.

Thank you very much. I honestly figured it would be that simple, I just didn't want to start something and completely mess things up. I appreciate the info very much.
